Updates and Reminders for APS ESOL Teachers
ESOL Teacher PLC Sessions:
October is our next mandatory training day for all APS ESOL teachers. ESOL teachers have the choice to attend either October 25th or October 26th. Training will take place at the Campbell Building from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ESOL teachers must register in myPLC for their selected date. Teachers should bring their district-issued laptops and come prepared to learn about our new ESOL tool ---Project ELL!
December PLC session will be with Anchor Chart guru, Roz Linder. These sessions will be specific by level. Elementary ESOL teachers should attend on December 6th and middle/high school ESOL teachers should attend on December 7th. These sessions are listed in MyPLC and teachers should register for the selected date.
By September 30th all ESOL TPC meetings should be completed. Accommodations spreadsheets should be completed and submitted in your school's DropBox folder by October 14th.
NAEP Accommodations must be determined for all ELs in grades 4 and 8. Elementary and middle school ESOL teachers should refer to the guidelines provided via email on Monday, October 24th.
October 25th/26th: October ESOL PLC
October 27th - November 10th: Pending Kindergarten final determination
November 11th: All updated IRFs for Pending Ks due to District ESOL
November 17th: Final day to update ESOL info for ACCESS Pre-ID file
December 6th/6th: December PLC (Anchor Charts for EL Success with Roz Linder)
January 10th/11th: January ESOL PLC (ACCESS Training)
January 17th - March 3rd: ACCESS for ELLs® Test Window
January 31st/February 1st/2nd: KSU ESOL Conference
February 6th: Target completion date for grades 1st - 3rd Listening/Speaking sections on ACCESS for ELLs®
