In 2015, the State Board and the University System of Georgia approved the acceptance of Computer Science courses in lieu of world language courses. Thus, the University System of Georgia will allow the following for admissions:
2 Carnegie units of the same world language
OR
2 units of American Sign Language
OR
2 units of computer science
*Georgia public high school students satisfying the requirement through the computer science option may not use the same computer science course to satisfy for a fourth science unit AND the computer science course must be one of those listed below:
While the substitution of Computer Science for World Language is permitted for the University System of Georgia, universities outside of Georgia may have different requirements. Admission requirements for all colleges and universities should be carefully reviewed throughout high school.
